OT: Any Fellow TORCHWOOD Fans Here ?
Just want to ask my fellow peers here if they watch TORCHWOOD on BBC America and follow the adventures of Captain Jack Harkness and his band of Alien Fighting/Paranormal Investigators ?

TORCHWOOD is like one part X-Files, One Part Californication, and One Part Heroes with some Adult Themes mixed in...
We love this series and think Captain Jack Harness is a kewl dude...First saw him in DR WHO Episodes THE EMPTY CHILD & THE DOCTOR DANCES and loved how he spent his last minutes (NOT!) kicking back with a Cocktail and a sigh !
Not to mention the Sexy WPC Gwen Cooper , Toshiko Sato the Computer Expert, Medical Specialist Owen Harper, Dogsbody Ianto Jones, and many more cast members to come....
Definitely a relief from all the Trekkie Nerd Crap and worth a look !

I thought the "Children of Earth" mini-series/compressed season was great! My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Have been much less into the series overall, however; have never been a fan of the Dr. Who franchise and don't really care for its tone and, to the extent that Torchwood is similar to it in many ways, it hasn't really grabbed me. Although Capt. Jack is a classic hero, to be sure.
But don't slam the Trekkies! StarCons were the first cons I ever went to and I had a great time at all of them. And the latest Star Trek movie is great. There is room for everyone.

Was'nt knocking the Trekkies but 13 tired versions do not Classic Sci-Fi make....
But the new DR. WHO is great and Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner deserve credit for bringing the dead back to life with a little help from Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Billie Piper.....

This episode SCARED THE LIVING S**T out of me and revived my phobias about Circuses....Would love to see Stephen King write an episode of TW !
And the character of WPC Gwen Cooper reminds me of our own Laura Hladik !
