Event Description

It is our wish to provide you, our guests, with the same opportunities that our investigative team has had to investigate some of the most storied haunted locations in the world. Over the years, we have taken you to such exciting places as New Orleans, Savannah, and Chicago. Now, Orlando Ghost Tours is partnering with paranormal investigator Ray Couch and our great friends at Southern Ghosts to offer you another fascinating experience in the world of paranormal investigation. This March 13th-15th, 2009, we are conducting a weekend investigation of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and ask you to journey back in time with us to a site of great tragedy and triumph…horror and bravery.

In July of 1863, General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia of 75,000 men and the 97,000 man Union Army of the Potomac under General George G. Meade met, by chance, when a Confederate brigade sent forward for supplies observed a forward column of Meade's cavalry. The place was Gettysburg, and it has become known as the definitive battle of the Civil War…the turning point that ultimately led to victory for the North.

On July 1st-3rd, 1863, more men actually fought and died on the Gettysburg battlefield than in any other battle before or since on North American soil. This small town of only 2,400 was left with a total, from both sides, of more than 51,000 casualties. Over 172,000 men and 634 cannon had been positioned in an area encompassing 25 square miles. Additionally, an estimated 569 tons of ammunition was expended. When the battle had ended, 5,000 dead horses and the other wreckage of war presented a scene of terrible devastation.

From a paranormal standpoint, Gettysburg is considered one of the most active locations on earth. As far as both residual and genuine haunts are concerned, the ghastly battle fought nearly 145 years ago has left an indelible imprint on the landscape and in the homes and businesses of those who still reside there.

Tales of ghostly sightings and other paranormal phenomena abound at Gettysburg, and we have fulfilled a life-long dream of ours by organizing what is certain to be an incredibly fascinating weekend during which you will have the chance to experience Gettysburg as paranormal investigators.

During previous visits to this historic municipality, our guests experienced a tremendous amount of paranormal phenomena, including actual sightings of apparitions! Additionally, they had great success capturing both compelling examples of electronic voice phenomena, or EVP, and fascinating images on film!
